서로 다른 스타일과 시기의 작품 3개를 외워서 연주합니다.

-choosing 3 works which best represent their capabilities with regard to musicianship and technical facility.

-one of the three works must be a sonata-allegro movement(or more) of a sonata by Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven or Schubert ( For students auditioning only at the concentraion level, the classical sonata movement is a recommendation, not a requirement)

MM, DMA

서로 다른 스타일과 시기의 작품 3개를 외워서 연주합니다.

-choosing 3 works which best represent their capabilities with regard to musicianship and technical facility.

-one of the three works must be a sonata by Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven or Schubert

-The first movement from a Mozart concerto ( K. 216, 218, 219) with cadenza

-A movement from a standard violin concerto such as Beethoven, Tchaikovsky, Paganini, Bartok, etc.

-One 20th century composition by a composer such as Webern, Berg, Shoenberg, Bartok, etc.

-One Paganini Caprice or Wieniawski Etude

-One work of the applicant's choice

 

* Cello 전공

학사학위(Undergraduate)

-One movement from a Bach cello suite

-One movement from a concerto such as Haydn C-major, Boccherini, etc.

MM, DMA :

- One or two contrasting movements from a Bach cello suite

- Two movements from a concerto such as Haydn D-major, Saint-Saens, Dvorak, etc.

- The first movement from a major sonata from the standard repertoire(optional)

-One unaccompanied 20th-century composition(optional)

Prescreening Recordings을 요합니다. 레코딩은 vidoe tape or DVD로 제출하며 11월 25일까지.

학사학위(Undergraduate):

-Two art songs, one in English and one in a foreign language. NO OPERATIC ARIAS are allowed; however, an aria from an oratorio is acceptable

MM, DMA:

-Four art songs and two arias, including contrastin styles and periods, in English, French, German, and Italian

Applicants should forward a portfolio of three scores and recordings(optional) of their music by January 2. Send copies of your compositions; we do not return portfolios. Late applications will be considered on a space-availability basis. Selected applicants will be invited for interviews on the published audition/ interview dates.

1. Mozart-Exposition of 1st and 2nd movements of the Concerto in G or D Major

2. Contrasting piece of the candidate's choice

3. Orchestral Excerpts-Applicant should pick three from the following :

-Beethoven Eroica Symphony : Last movement -measures 172-200

-Beethoven Leonore Overture No. 3 - measures 328-360

-Brahms Symphony No. 4 : last movement - measures 93-105

-Debusssy Afternoon of a Fawn -measures 1-4

-Mendelssohn Scherzo from A Midsummer Night's Dream - 2 measures before P to the end

학사학위(Undergraduate):

1. One etude showing the applicant's level of technical and musical ability

2. Two major solo works of contrasting styles plus a Mozart concerto. At least one of these three solo pieces must be performed from memory in its entirety.

3. Two standard orchestral excerpts

MM, DMA, AD:

1. Applicants fro graduate programs must perform a Mozart concerto, a 20th century concerto and two additional major solo works of contrasting styles. One of the four pieces must be played from memory in its entirety.
