Preliminary Recording

1. First movement of a Classical Sonata (e.g., Beethoven, Haydn, Mozart, or Schubert)
2. Substantial Romantic work (e.g. Chopin, Schumann, Brahms, Liszt, Mendelssohn, or others)

학사학위(Undergraduate) -암기해서 연주

1.prelude and fugue, or a complete Bach suite or partita
2. A complete Classical sonata
3. A substantial Romantic work
4. A 20th-century or 21st-century work
5. A fast etude

대학원(Graduate)

1. Prepare the equivalent of a recital program of major works representing the four historical periods (Baroque, Classical, Romantic, and 20th/21st centuries).
2. A fast etude
3. D.M.A : a recital-length audition of stylistically diverse, musically and pianistically challenging works

* 현악기

-Preliminary recording

1. Exposition and cadenza from one movement of a concerto from the standard repertoire. If the movement does not include a cadenza (i.e. Dvorak), applicants should just perform the entire first movement.
2. Two movements from an unaccompanied Bach sonata or partita, or the Chaconne.
3. One Paganini caprice (DMA and GD only).

학사학위(Undergraduate)- 암기해서 연주

Three contrasting works (or movements) from the standard concert repertoire demonstrating diverse musical styles (for example, movement(s) of unaccompanied Bach and/or other virtuosic solo piece; a movement from a Classical sonata; a movement from a Romantic concerto). One or more of the chosen selections should be memorized.

석사학위(Graduate)

Be prepared to play at least one movement of a major work from the concerto repertoire; a complete major unaccompanied work; at least one movement of a major work from the sonata or duo repertoire; a complete 20th-century composition. The concerto and unaccompanied work should be performed from memory.

 

 

* Cello 전공

-Preliminary recording

1. First movement of a cello concerto from the standard repertoire.
2. Any two movements of a Bach suite.
3. A slow and fast movement from a sonata with piano in contrasting style from the other repertoire requirements (MM, GD and DMA only)

학사학위(Undergraduate)-암기해서 연주

* Voice 전공

All soprano and mezzo soprano applicants are required to submit a preliminary audition

학사학위(Undergraduate):

Freshman : applicants should prepare three selections: one song in English, one song in Italian (pre-1800 from any early Italian anthology), and one song in a language of the applicant's choice. No operatic arias, please.

Transfer : applicants should prepare four songs, at least one in each of the following languages: Italian, English and either French or German. The Italian language requirement may be filled by singing an aria from the Early Italian Anthology. Transfer applicants at the Junior level may include an operatic or oratorio aria as a fifth selection.

석사학위(Graduate):

All voice applicants should prepare five selections encompassing four languages and three stylistic periods. At least three selections should be from concert song repertoire. Italian and English languages must be represented. An operatic or oratorio aria should be included as part of your audition repertoire.

* 작곡 전공 (Composition)

Submit three or four scores of original compositions with the application for admission. Each of the submitted scores should be a bound photocopy of the original manuscript. If available, please include a CD or cassette recording of the submitted compositions. Show, through transcripts or other supporting documents, proof of theoretical study.

1. Mozart ? Exposition of 1st and 2nd movements of the Concerto in G or D major
2. Contrasting piece of the candidate’s choice
3. Orchestral Excerpts:
A. Beethoven Leonore Overture No. 3 ? measures 328-360

C. Mendelssohn Scherzo from Midsummer Nights Dream ? 2 measures before P to the end

학사학위(Undergraduate):

1. One Etude and Major and Minor scales
2. Mozart Concerto in G or D major ? movements 1 and 2.
3.Major contemporary work (complete sonata, concerto, or substantial work such as Dutilleux Sonatine, Jolivet Chant de Linos, Martin Ballade, or Sancan Sonatine)
4. Three Orchestral Excerpts displaying a variety of styles (from Jeanne Baxtresser Book of Orchestral Excerpts)

석사학위(Graduate):

1. Any sonata by J.S. Bach
2. Mozart Concerto ? complete
